HOW TO SPEND VALENTINE'S AND BEYOND IN MOUNT WASHINGTON VALLEY

It's been said that February is for Lovers! Here are some special ways to “Feel the Love” and enjoy some fun-filled activities in and around  “The Valley” this February

CHOCOLATE LOVE

We’ve always enjoyed the annual Chocolate Festival, hosted by the Mount Washington Valley Ski Touring Association. Strap on your snowshoes or click into your cross-country skis and follow the trails from inn-to-inn on Februarty 26, where you will enjoy a chocolate treat at each stop. You’ll burn off those calories as you travel! Purchase tickets in advance at MWV Ski Touring

A visit to North Conway isn’t complete without a stop at the Bavarian Chocolate Haus for some decadent chocolates. Watch the chocolate makers create sweet treats by hand and custom create you own chocolate gift box. Your Valentine is sure to be delighted!

READY TO TRY SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT?

Sleigh Rides at Attitash Mountain Village in Bartlett NH.  Experience one of the hidden gems of the White Mountains! Step back in time and savor the majestic wonder of sleigh bells echoing through the forest of towering pines, illuminated by lanterns on the trees guiding the way. Reservations are available from 4pm to 8pm in the winter on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, as well as school vacations. Rides are 30 minutes long. Because of demand, they ask all guests to please book in advance.

Up for a new adventure? Try the Muddy Paw Dogsled in Jefferson NH, offering one-and-a-half hour tours that take riders 5 miles throughout the White Mountains. At the end of the experience, guests will have 10-15 minutes to say thank you to the sled dogs by giving belly rubs and treats!

Book a full moon snowshoe tour and add some romance with a moonlit walk through the freshly fallen snow at Great Glen Trails in Pinkham Notch. This fun experience will be led by an Appalachian Trail Naturalist, where you’ll learn to navigate by your senses, identify animal sounds and calls. Guests must be a minimum age of 8 years old to participate. Then head next door to the Glen House Hotel for a cup of hot cocoa.
